Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)

Our SDA service involves a comprehensive approach to finding and securing the right accommodation. This includes:

• Assessment of Needs: Collaborating with you and relevant professionals (e.g., occupational therapists) to understand your specific housing and support requirements.
• SDA Eligibility Guidance: Helping you understand the NDIS criteria for SDA funding and assisting with the application process.
• Property Matching: Connecting you with available SDA properties that meet your approved design category and desired location.
• Lease and Tenancy Support: Assisting with understanding tenancy agreements and ensuring a smooth transition into your new home.
• Understanding SDA Design Categories:
  1. Level 1 - Basic: Generally older housing stock that has been modified to a minimum standard to meet accessibility requirements.
  2. Level 2 - Improved Liveability: Designed to improve the physical accessibility of a dwelling and provide a reasonable level of physical access and space for people with a disability. It often includes features like improved bathroom design and wider doorways.
  3. Level 3 - Fully Accessible: Housing that provides a high level of physical accessibility for people with significant physical impairment, including features like step-free access throughout, wider corridors, and specific bathroom and kitchen layouts.
  4. Level 4 - High Physical Support: Designed for people with very significant physical impairment, requiring specialized features for very high physical support needs. This may include ceiling hoists, assistive technology readiness, and extensive bathroom modifications to accommodate complex care.
